I have seen so much misinformation passed around I decided to put together a show reading directly from a FWS document to try and do my part to set the record strait on what the Lacey Act really means for reptile keepers. Below the video is the actual document and a link to the original below that.
The city as well as reptile handlers have decided that it is not a good idea to have the public display of snakes at the St Patrick’s Day Festival as it has had in years past. The apparent problem is the large amount of drunk people who appear to hang around in awe over the animals, the city and the handlers both agree that alcohol and exotic animals do not mix. The L.A. Zoo is opening a new reptile house. I love visiting the one here locally, The displays are freaking awesome and the kids get a kick out of it, read more about the new one below.
