Plans that feel bad
So I have done a lot of thinking today after last nights blog post abut the current situation. The announcement makes me sad, I love so much of what I have been doing I just can not imagine anything changing. I mean doing DRN for a living was a dream but no matter how hard I racked my brain I could just never figure out how to make it happen. Ultimately I don’t want to do anything other than what I have been working on but I am sure everyone understands the reasoning. The wost part is while I am sure DRN will survive I have no idea how I will keep up some of my future projects and plans right now. I just wont have the time for them so that’s kind of sad. I guess all in all everything is not lost. I still have 3 days to back out from the new plans, the problem is I need to be very damn sure that if I do that DRN will start paying the bills because once I back out there is no way to go back.

Over 100 lizards saved from house fire
Between 100 and 150 lizards were saved from a house fire in Chico on Monday. The homeowner reported that a Boa and a cat died in the fire which destroyed about 90% of the inside of the mobile home. Several engines responded to the fire and helped in removing the lizards. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
A final decision on DRN
Guys and gals. I really hate to say this but I am going to shift focus for the time being. Dont get all excited. The show will still go on as scheduled, The website updates may not be up to the minute nor would responses be made within seconds like everyone is use to. Here is how things will go from here on out. Like I said I will still be doing the show 3 days per week just like now, hopefully this will remain a workable schedule. If not then we will touch on that when the time comes. The website will be updated daily with reptile news but not several times per day anymore, maybe just once per day and i may omit some of the news that is just to redundant. MY reason for doing this is I have been crunching numbers, meeting with people, doing everything and anything. Some of you may recall today on Face Book when I said I was checking out for a while. I did this so I could clear my head and really do some soul searching. I came to the conclusion that I do NOT want to do DRN full time, if I did it for a living I fear it would destroy it for me so I have decided to just keep it as something I enjoy doing for a hobby and thats it. If and when opportunities present themselves which I am sure they will then I may have a change of heart at that time and for the most part just deal with things on a case by case basis. I have a big meeting set for Monday at which time we will be relaunching my old business and working on coming out the gate running with it. I am supper excited about this because I am sure to succeed and bring in some good profits and bringing in those profits is what is going to ensure that DRN is around for a long long time.
This in some ways is very good news because it means the guaranteed survival of Daily Reptile News long into the future. Nothing is set in stone as of yet but the sad reality is DRN was making NO money, if I continued down the same path it would lead to disaster and ultimately lead to shutting DRN down completely. Doing it this way will allow it to still around and stay fun like it was meant to be in the first place. I greatly appreciate everyone understanding on this and look forward to working with each and everyone one of you for a long long time.
Because I will be away from the computer more often I will not be in contact with a lot of you as much as I have been. Your best bet in getting a hold of me is ether commenting on the site on this post or even in the forum then I will get it in my email and be able to read it when I am not in town. Thank you everyone for your time.

Broward County wants you to trap Alligators
Broward County is looking for Alligator trappers. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission is currently accepting applications for the position. “A few thousand nuisance alligators are harvested every year in the state of Florida. Broward County is one of our busier counties for alligator calls,” said Gabriella Ferraro, an FWC spokeswoman. “It’s an area with a dense population and many canals and retention ponds, so you will find alligators. And some of those alligators become a nuisance.” To become a trapper you need a to pass a criminal back ground check and have no fish or wildlife violations.
